History of 11th Bournemouth Scout Group

The Jungle Book Picture

The Picture depicting the animals in the Jungle Book was created and made by a Prisoner of War after his release as a theraputic exercise. Unfortunately his name is not known. He later became a Cub Leader with the 55th Bournemouth at the Victoria Home for Disabled Children, now the Victria School at Branksome. The picture was displayed at the school for many years but when the Pack was disbanded it was given to Mr John Stagg who was Akela at the time. For quite a while it hung in John's father, Sydney Stagg's home. Following Sydney's death the picture was presented to 11th Bournemouth (St Christopher's) Scout Group in memory of Sydney Stagg and his family who had been connected with St Christopher's Church and the Scout group for many years.
